Graduation ceremonies for Bleckley County Success Academy will be May 17 at 7 pm inside the high school auditorium.

BCHS students show off artistic talents.

One of the parts of Bleckley Schools’ “Expect Excellence” motto is the arts. Student excellence was on display Monday night at the 2019 Art Exhibition. The auditorium lobby was transformed into a gallery showcasing entered works from students in Robin Raffield’s art classes. Members of the Royal Singers provided entertainment.

 

Thanks to the donations from State Bank of Cochran, Cochran Bank, and Citizen’s Bank, six honorable mention awards of $25 along with three places (third $50, second $75, first $100) were awarded to students. Those receiving honorable mentions were: Clara Rossi, LaTwiya Pitts, Austin Hiner, Delilah Smeltzer, Lauren Taylor, and Meredith Evans. Winners were as follows: Third place, Prayla Lockett. Second place, Arie Williams. First place, Kimberly Rodriguez.

Bethany Baptist Church celebrating pastor's anniversary May 19.

BCHS boys track wins state.

BCHS boys track wins state.

It was a historical weekend for the Bleckley County High School boys track team.  They won five individual state championships en route to winning the first team title in school history.  Click here for more.

BCHS holds of Bremen to reach semifinals.

Steven Knighton's third inning home run at Bremen Friday afternoon gave the a 6-0 lead. But the Blue Devils chipped away, drawing to within 6-5 after six innings. They had a runner at first with two outs in the seventh but Brody Little induced a pop out to Carson Waters, securing Bleckley's berth in the final four. Little made his return to the mound, giving up one run, three hits, in three innings of relief. He was also 3 for 4. Waters was 2 for 4, Knighton 1 for 2. Bleckley will host Jeff Davis for a state title game berth May 14. Game one starts at 4:30 pm, game two 30 minutes later. The *if* game is set for May 15 at 6 pm.

BCHS spring football game May 17.

Bleckley County High School will conclude spring football practice with a scrimmage game at Perry May 17.  Kickoff is 7:30 pm.
