Cochran Women's Club thanks community for support of service project.

As part of a statewide community service project, Cochran Women's Club collected items for victims of domestic abuse at Walmart Saturday. Donations will go toward the Salvation Army safe house in Warner Robins. There were so many donations that shopping carts had to be used for collections. Cochran Women's Club thanks the community for their donations and support.

BCHS falls in round one of baseball playoffs.

Cochran church celebrating Homecoming May 6.

Salem Baptist Church will hold Homecoming services May 6 at 10:30 am.  Guest speaker will be Rev. Charles Asbell.  Music will be led by former Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Worship Leader. Dr. Al Haywood.  The church is located at 107 Salem Church Road.

Ninth annual Spring Buddy Ball game May 5.

The ninth annual Spring Buddy Ball game will be May 5 from 9:45 am-noon at the Cochran-Bleckley Recreation Department.  Buddy Ball is baseball for special needs children who might not normally get to participate in team sports.  These games are for special needs children ages 3-18 from Bleckley, Dodge, and Pulaski counties.  Be there by 9:45 am, games start at 10.  Lunch provided.  Call Danette Rogers, (478)934-2280, or Kathy Simmons, (478)374-6489, for more information.

Rain threat postpones opening round of baseball playoffs for BCHS.

The threat of rain moved Bleckley's home opneing round playoff series against Harlem to tomorrow.  Game one starts at 3:30 pm, game two 30 minutes later.  The *if* game would be Saturday at 2 pm.

New author shares stories at book signing.

Cochran-Bleckley Friends of the Library held a book signing for Dr Tracie Provost Tuesday night. Provost, a professor of European History at Middle Georgia State University, recently published her first novel "Under the Blood Moon." Besides taking audience questions, Provost also shared various anecdotes, including the fact she handwrites pages before backing them up digitally.
