BCHS football unable to overcome bad start at Washington County.

Washington County scored 21 first quarter points off Bleckley turnovers, including an interception returned for six points, Friday night in Sandersville. The Royals could not recover and went on to lose 54-20. Dominic Sasser, playing for an injured Zach Lassiter, threw a pair of touchdown passes to Nykeem Farrow. One was 75 yards, the other 41. BCHS will celebrate Homecoming October 12 against East Laurens at 7:30 pm.

BCHS One Act to perform "All Shook Up" October 14-16.

Bleckley County High School One Act Play will have community performances of this year's competition selection All Shook Up October 14-16 in the auditorium. Times are 3 pm that Sunday, 7:30 pm on both Monday and Tuesday. Admission is $6 adults, $3 students. BCHS will also be the host for this region one act play competition October 18. Bleckley will take the stage at approximately 4:15 pm. Admission is free. No photography nor videography at region per GHSA rules.

Though rallying past East Laurens to make their third straight 3-AA title game, the Lady Royals lost to Dodge County 4-1.  It was the third straight region title game loss, 11th straight loss to Dodge.

Cochran community blood drive October 8.

BCHS softball wins regular season finale.

After scoring 13 runs and hitting three home runs during their previous meeting with Telfair County, the Lady Royals had just four hits and six runs.  But they were able to make them stand up in a 4-2 win.  To read more, including playoff information, click here.

New art exhibition opening inside MGA's Peacock Gallery October 8.

The Bogdan Ghita Art Exhibition will open October 8 inside Peacock Gallery located on the first floor of Russell Hall on the Cochran campus of Middle Georgia State University. A gallery talk and opening reception will be held at 6 pm. The exhibition will be on display through November 2. Gallery hours are 8 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am to noon on Fridays.
