Bible Reading Marathon returning after two-year hiatus.

After being virtually the past two years due to COVID-19, the Bible Reading Marathon returns to the Bleckley County Courthouse with opening ceremonies being held April 29 at 6 pm on the courthouse square. Special remarks from: Pastor Jeff Dykes, Cochran-Bleckley Ministerial Alliance, County Commissioner Mike Davis, Mayor Billy Yeomans, School Superintendent Dr. Steve Smith, Abraham Diallo, Middle Georgia State University, Jed Evans, Bleckley Christian Learning Center. Bleckley PTO hosting mother-son outing April 29.

Bleckley PTO will hold a mother-son outing April 29 at 5:30 pm behind Bleckley Elementary.  Games, food truck on site.  Movie, "Ron's Gone Wrong" at sundown.  Admission $30 per mother and son,  $10 per additional.  Cash or Venmo the day of the event.

Bats struggle in loss at Veterans.

In an effort to stay fresh for next week's playoffs, BCHS baseball added two games to their schedule this week.  Yesterday, the team played at Veterans.  BC had just two hits, Eli Mullis went 1 for 2, in a 7-0 loss.  The next added game, a JV/varsity doubleheader against Jeff Davis, will be played at home April 22.  JV at 4:30 pm, varsity at 6:30.

Gospel trio to perform at local church April 25.

"Redeemed" will be in concert at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church April 25 at 6:30 pm.  The free event is sponsored by Calvary's Classics senior ministry.  Coffee and desert will follow the performance.

Athletic physicals rescheduled for April 28.

Athletic physicals for middle and high school students have been rescheduled for April 28 in the BCHS gym.  Current eighth-11th graders, 6 pm, current fifth through seventh graders, 7 pm.  Cost is $10 paid either through the DragonFly App or cash the night of.  Skip to the front of the line by having your DragonFly account at 78 percent by April 22.  Email Heather Davis, hdavis@bleckleyschools.org, with any questions.

Bethany Baptist Church will hold a family drive-thru adventure April 23 at 3:30 pm.  Start at the church, drive around the community.  Prizes awarded for first through third places.  Dinner provided at 6:30 pm.  Register by clicking here.
