White a positive influence on and off the mat for BCHS.

White a positive influence on and off the mat for BCHS.

Bleckley County High School competition cheerleader Calli White in many ways is like other members of the squad. She loves her family, hanging out with friends, and has a boyfriend.  But White had to overcome an obsticle most don't to become a cheerleader.

She made the squad as a freshman with just one eye.  White lost her right eye due to cancer almost 11 years ago. Despite that loss, she made the squad and went from being an alternate to on the mat.  White also has a heart for others, especially those who may be different.

Wednesday, she won the statewide Positive Athlete Georgia Most Positive Cheerleading Athlete Award.  To read more about her, including thoughts from her head coach Heather Davis, click here.
