Baseball loses at Toombs County.

BCHS committed four errors in an 8-5 loss at Toombs County Thursday evening. Conner Senters went 2 for 3. Willie Harris was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI. J.R. Fordham went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI. The Royals play in Eastman today versus Dodge County at 5 pm.

Royals capitalize in Indian miscues to roll in region baseball opener.

BCHS had just nine hits in last night's region baseball opener.  But eight walks, five hit batters, and five errors helped the Royals to a 15-0 win.  Eli Mullis went 3 for 3 with a double and 1 RBI.  Matthew Bland was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.  Ethan Hulsey was 1 for 2 with 2 RBI.  The Royals play at Toombs County tomorrow.  JV at 4 pm, varsity to follow.

BCHS FFA and Friends meeting March 17.

Bleckley County High School FFA will hold an "FFA & Friends" meeting March 17 at 3:30 pm in the student parking lot. Activities include Archery, egg toss, hay bale toss, toilet seat, horseshoes, and loudest truck competition. Register by March 12 to be eligible to receive the price. Donations will also be collected for the JC Stewart Scholarship Fund in memory of FFA member JC Stewart. Mobile Food Pantry returning to Cochran March 16.

The Mobile Food Pantry will return to Cochran March 16 at 9:30 am.  It will be set up behind the Cotton Museum Gazebo on Third Street.  Supplies limited.  Do not enter from Second or Dykes Streets.  Stay in your car upon arrival.  

 

Volunteers are needed to assist with unloading and distribution of the food.  To volunteer, contact Pam Moore, (478)934-4300, pmoore@bleckleyschools.org

For many years, Miranda (Bryant) Schossler bought joy to children with Princesses with a Purpose. Saturday, she, along with husband Branden, and a cast of others, bought joy and natural history education to children with Dinosauria Spectacular held at the BCHS auditorium.  Read more here.

Royals take advantage of Fitzgerald miscues to win.

Both BCHS and Fitzgerald had five hits Friday night. The difference was the Hurricanes committed seven errors to Bleckley's two. Those mistakes heled the Royals secure an 11-2 win. Brody Little went 1 for 2. Bleckley hosts Dodge March 9. JV at 4 pm with varsity to follow.
