Opening ceremonies for 16th annual Bible Reading Marathon April 26.

Opening ceremonies for the 16th annual Bible Reading Marathon will be held April 26 at 6 pm on the Bleckley courthouse square. Maj. Wyne Hutchings, U.S. Army Family Life Chaplain will serve as emcee. BCHS spring sports update.

Royals baseball won their regular season finale yesterday at Emanuel County Institute 8-3.  They open the state playoffs at home April 24 against Metter.  Game one starts at 4 pm, game two to follow 30 minutes later.  The *If* game is scheduled for April 25 at 5:30 pm.


Soccer split their regular season finale at Dublin High School last night with the girls winning 9-1 and boys losing 3-1.  The girls are second seed for the upcoming state playoffs and host Toombs County in round one April 25 at 5 pm.  Both boys and girls tennis will play sweet 16 matches at home April 22.  The boys play Johnson-Atlanta at 2 pm.  It'll be followed by girls action against Screven County.


BCHS track will be at the 3-AA meet hosted by Northeast High School April 22 and 24.  Field events and qualifying start at 10 am that Monday with all finals on Wednesday.  The meet takes place at Thompson Stadium.


Royal Singers spring concert April 25.

The BCHS Royal Singers will hold their spring concert April 25 at 7:30 pm. Admission is $4 adults, $2 students.

Cochran church opening food bank April 23.

Cornerstone Church of Cochran's Love Center Food Bank will be open on April 23 from 11 am to 2 pm, while supplies last.  A promotional flyer states anyone needing "a free box of food and love" should come to the church parking lot, 129 E. Beech Street.

Update on BCHS baseball.

Though Bleckley lost last Friday's home game to Washington County, they still clinched the the 3-AA title.  To find out how, click here.  The Royals lost 8-3 to Fitzgerald Monday and will close out the regular season April 18 at Emanuel County Institute.

Red Cross Blood Drive April 22.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in the main bulding of the Bleckley County Extension Office, 165 E.
