MGC Fashion Club Holds 7th Annual Fashion Show

The Middle Georgia College (MGC) Fashion Club recently held its 7th Annual Fashion Show for students, friends, and community members at Walker Hall Auditorium.

The show, hosted by MGC students Gary Reeves, Chancellor Martin, and Zenique Johnson, featured students modeling clothes from 4 different categories: Fall/Autumn, Winter Wonderland, Formal/Evening Wear, and The Rave, a news release says.

In between sections, the hosts held several contests for audience members including a dance off, a best dressed contest, and a walk off. The MGC Dance Club, Sway, also performed.

The creative team, including Courtney Hadley, Briana Chanel, Kim Mattox, and Marcel Walker, selected the clothes and put the models’ outfits together. “We looked at typical ‘girl stores,’” said Hadley, who is also the Fashion Club Fall 2010 president.  “We looked in Rainbow, Wal-Mart, as well as in thrift stores such as Goodwill.”

An Eastman man died in a possible alcohol-related wreck during a police chase early Saturday, according to Trooper Jeffery Taylor, Georgia State Patrol.

The wreck happened just after midnight on Saturday at the intersection of Sweet Home Church Road and Old Milan Road.

Milan's police chief spotted a 1998 Ford F-150 swerving, Taylor said.  After the chief's cruiser got behind the truck, the truck sped up and lost control.

The chase lasted a few miles, crossing into Dodge County, he said.

Taylor says the other man's name has not been released.

He says they're not sure who was driving the truck.  No arrests have been made.
