Middle Georgia State University will host a web-based information session on its Master of Arts in Technical and Professional Writing May 27 at 5:30 pm. It's for anyone interested in the class or the 15 credit hour graduate certificate in Technical Writing and Digital Communications to ask questions. Cornerstone Church of Cochran holding Revival May 17-19.

Cornerstone Church of Cochran will hold Revival services May 17-19 with guest speaker Dr. Steve Foss. Service times are 10:45 am and 6 pm on Sunday, 7 pm Monday and Tuesday. The service will also be streamed online via the church Facebook page. Masks and gloves will be available to anyone needing them and the church will be practicing social distancing.

Early voting for June 9 primary to begin May 18.

BOE approves tentative budget, changes to school calendar.

At a called meeting held Monday morning, the Bleckley County Board of Education approved the tentative FY21 budget and changes to the school calendar which reflected furlough days.  Click here for more.

Another church to hold drive-in services May 17.

House of Grace Church will have "drive-in church" May 17 at 10:30 am. According to a post on the church Facebook page, it will take place in the old Fred's Parking Lot at Eastgate Plaza on Dykes Street. The event description reads simply "Worship with others from the safety of your own vehicle."

Paying tribute to spring sports seniors.

With spring sports cancelled, senior athletes were denied their final moments to shine, as well as any final recognition. To help that, lights were turned on at the tennis court, baseball field, and football stadium. Signs and banners adorned the areas to recognize spring sports athletes from the Class of 2020. Limestone Baptist holding "Church in the Park" May 17.

Limestone Baptist Church in Cochran will hold a drive-in service at their softball field located on Limestone Road May 17 at 9 am. Entitled "Church in the Park,"those attending are instructed to remain in their cars throughout the service. You're also asked to arrive early.
