BCHS baseball player trading in purple and gold for purple and orange.

Playing baseball in Bleckley County meant wearing purple and gold for Carter Raffield. Next year, he'll still be wearing purple but it'll have some orange as well. Raffield signed a letter of intent with Clemson University baseball November 11. A celebration of that signing was held Friday afternoon in the BCHS Media Center. In his Royals career, Raffield has a 5-2 record over 59.2 innings pitched with a 1.76 ERA. He's struck out 80, walked 40. Though he'll only pitch with the Tigers, Raffield has also had a good offensive career, hitting .337 with four home runs and 21 RBI.
