Convicted Dodge Babysitter Back in Custody

A Dodge County woman, who was released from prison a year early after being convicted of killing an infant three years ago, is back in custody.

That's according to Capt. Tony Winborn of the Dodge County Sheriff's Office.

Last month, a clerical error in the Dodge sheriff's office freed Amy Rogers Jones from prison a year ahead of time.

District Attorney Tim Vaughn filed a motion asking a judge to send her back to prison, but the judge set a hearing for early March.

But Vaughn said, Rogers waived that hearing and turned herself in around 10 a.m. Monday.

Vaughn says he's been in contact for the past couple weeks with Jones' lawyer, who eventually agreed that she had been released early.

"She decided she wanted to get this over with, and put it behind her," Vaughn says.
