Red Cross Blood Drive April 22.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in the main bulding of the Bleckley County Extension Office, 165 E. Peacok St. April 22 from 2 to 7 pm.  Appointments can be made online by going to redcrossblood.org and using the sponsor code "Cochran."  Streamline your donation experience by going to redcrossblood.org/rapidpass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions the day of your appointment.

Bake sale will benefit Royal Singers trip to music competition.

The BCHS Royal Singers will hold a bake sale in the Pre-K parking lot, 242 East Dykes Street, on April 20 from 9 am to 2 pm. Proceeds will benefit their May trip to the OrlandoFest music competition.

BCHS tennis to open tennis playoffs at home next week.

Bleckley County High School swept Wednesday's 3-AA tennis tournament played at Dublin High School with both teams beating Dodge County in the championship matches.  Teams will open the state playoffs next week.  The boys host Vidalia April 15 at 3:30 pm, the girls open against Swainsboro that Tuesday at 1:30 pm.

Story Time at the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library will be April 17 at 10 am.  It's presented by the Bleckle County Retired Educators.

Second straight good finish for local travel team.

Though it was a long trip to Moultrie for the USSSA's "Angels for Autism Awareness" tournament made longer by a rain delay, Prospex 04 had a good day, finishing second.  It's the second straight tournament the team came home with championship rings.
