Bleckley Elementary Holds First Ever Literacy Night | Arts & Culture
Over 200 students and parents came to Bleckley County Elementary School Thursday evening for the first ever "Literarcy Night." Principal Janet DeLoach said the event was to help promote reading outside school as well as get parents involved. She also said they were trying to help "make reading fun."
The Book Fair was open for shopping. Students could participate in a "Book Walk" (similar to a cake walk) exchange books at a "Book Swap" as well as take a load off by visiting the "Rock and Read" room. School officials were happy with Thursday's turnout.
