New MGSC scholarship memorializes music professor | Arts & Culture
Middle Georgia State College announced a newly-endowed scholarship Thursday in memory of Dr. Charles L. Quinn. Quinn, who was Director of Instrumental Music at the former Middle Georgia College Cochran campus, also founded the Ocmulgee Symphony Orchestra and its outreach program, the Ocmulgee Symphony Academy. He passed away in 2011.
The scholarship was established by Quinn's mother, Sandra Nash, through the Middle Georgia State College Foundation. The scholarship will be awarded annually to a qualified student majoring in music at MGSC. Donations, made payable to the Dr. Charles L.
