BCHS One Act to present "Bye Bye Birdie."

Bleckley County High School One Act Play will perform "Bye Bye Birdie" at the high school auditorium.  Showtimes are October 16, 21, and 22 at 7:30 pm and October 19 at 3:30 pm.  Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students.

MGSC to host gallery talk, art exhibition.

Middle Georgia State College will host a gallery talk and art exhibition featuring the work of Lee Simmons October 6 at 6 pm.  It'll be held inside Peacock Gallery inside Russell Hall on the Cochran campus.  The exhibition is entited "Lee Simmons Prints & Instillation:  Things Past," and will be on display through November 7.  Peacock Gallery is open 8 am-5:30 pm Monday through Thursday an 8 am-noon on Friday.  Email Charlie Agnew. charlie.agnew@mga.edu for more information.  The event is free and open to the public.

Cochran churches to have special music during evening services.

A pair of Cochran churches will have special music during upcoming 6 pm worship services.  The contemporary gospel group Mercy's Well will be at Betnany Baptist Church September 21 at 6 pm.  Bethany is located at 608 Highway 26 East.

On September 28 a "Gaither style" gospel sing will be held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church from 6-8 pm.  It'll feature the combined choirs of Mt. Calvary, Salem Baptist, Lakeview, and Bethany Baptist Churches, as well as an advertised "surprise guest."  Mt. Calvary is located at 128 Abney Road.

Bleckley County Bands, MGSC band to host marching exhibition.

Bleckley County Bands and the Middle Georgia State College Band of Knights present the first annual Castle City Jamboree September 20 at 7 pm.  The marching exhibtion will be held at Royal Stadium, 242 NE Dykes Street in Cochran.  Besides performances from the Royal Kingsmen Band and Band of Knights, Dodge County, Hawkinville, Northside (Warner Robins), Veterans, and Jones County High School bands will also perform.

BCHS Drama Department to present '50s show

The drama deprtment of Bleckley County High School invites everyone to meet them "At The Bandstand" August 26 and 28 at 7:30 pm.  

Both shows will be held at the high school auditorium.  Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students.  A '50s variety show, proceeds will go toward this year's One Act Play selection Bye Bye Birdie.

Royal Kingsmen hold band camp performance

The BCHS Royal Kingsmen have been holding band camp this week to prepare for football season.  

Thursday, parents got a small preview of what this year's show would look like in a performance held at the practice field. This year's show will be entitled "Movie Toons."  

Fans can see it in it's entirety August 15 when the Royals will host Irwin County in a scrimmage at 7:30 p.m.
