Classic country at the Bleckley County Jamboree

Classic country at the Bleckley County Jamboree

For almost four years now, a small community center on Highway 126 in Bleckley County has been the place to go if you wanted to hear classic country and gospel music.  The Bleckley County Jamboree, stared by Cochran native Josh Lucas, is every Friday at 7 p.m.  It's held at the Oak Grove Community Center.

Pat Gibbs, who runs the concession stand, said Lucas started it to provide older people somewhere to go on Friday nights.  The main entertainment is Lucas and his band, but others have performed as well.  Admission is free, donations are welcomed.  The music starts each Friday at 7 pm.
