Combined bands helps Bleckley New Year's Eve tradition continue.

For the past three years, at least 100 people have spent their New Year's Eve listening to the classic rock sounds of the Cochran-based Double Barrell Band inside the Cochran-Bleckley Arts Alliance.  This year's show was in doubt due to schedule conflicts.  But late last week, the band announced via their Facebook page the show would go on.

Wednesday night, people again came to the arts alliance to ring in the new year.  This time, it was with a combined effort.  Members of the Double Barrell Band joined forces with Turner Down, another local band founded by Bleckley County High School alumni Paul Turner. The combined effort was called "Double Down."  They performed many of the DBB's familiar numbers along with some  never done including Tom Petty's Mary Jane's Last Dance.
