The Cochran-Bleckley Arts Alliance was transformed into a coffee house Friday night.  It was "Jazz Knights," featuring music by the Middle Georgia State College Jazz Enesmble.  To complete the coffee house feel, a concession stand in the back featured flavored coffees and teas for sale.

BCHS Royal Singers to hold spring concert.

Bleckley County High School's Royal Singers will hold their spring concert April 2 at 7:30 pm.  Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students.  Proceeds will benefit the group's upcoming trip to the OrlandoFest music competition.

Cochran-Bleckley Friends of the Library Old Book Sale March 28.

The Cochran-Bleckley Friends of the Library will hold an Old Book Sale March 28 from 9 am-6 pm at the old high school library located on ninth street near the Board of Education buidling.  Prices range from $.25 to $5 with selections including children's, romance, thrilliers, biography, and history.  Proceeds will benefit the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library.

Singer Adam Crabb to perform at New Life Church of God.

Adam Crabb, current lead singer for the Gaither Vocal Band, will be in cocert this Sunday morning at New Life Church of God in Cochran.  Admission is free, a love offering will be taken.  New Life Church of God is located at 335 GA 26.

Cochran Bleckley Arts Alliance to present "Jazz Knights."

The Cochran-Bleckley Arts Alliance will present "Jazz Knights," featuring the Middle Georgia State College Jazz Ensemble, at the Arts Alliance Building March 27 at 7:30 pm.  Admission is free, donations accepted.  Concessions will be available.  The Arts Alliance is located at 113 E. Dykes St, parking is avaiable by the Tessie W. Norris Library.

Bleckley Primary celebrates Dr. Seuss's birthday.

Bleckley County Primary School held their second annual Dr. Seuss birthday celebration Thursday afternoon.   Designed to promote literacy, the afternoon featured a variety of reading-based games and activities ran by BCPS teachers and faculty.  Students could shop at the book fair, take an Advanced Reader test on the computer, and play games such as a book walk.

BCHS Literary finishes region runner up.

Bleckley County High School finished second in region literary competition held Wednesday at Putnam County High School.  Jon Holland Jones won region in boys solo and will advance to state competition March 14 at Veterans High School.  Other results are as follows.  Boys quartet- second.  Girls solo- third.  Girls trio- fourth.  Madison Phelps- Second in girls essay, fourth in girls extemporaneous speaking.  Nick Kirkpatrick- Second in boys extemporaneous speaking.  Davis Grimsely- Second in boys dramatic interpretation.  Caitlyn Bambrough- Second in girls dramatic interpretation.
