Two Bleckley all star teams advance to state

For the first time since 2006, two teams from the Cochran-Bleckley Rec. Department will participate in GRPA state tournament action.  The 9-10 girls lost Thursday's district title game to Dodge County 15-2.  But the runner up finish was the best in the 9-10 girls division since 2004.  BC will open state July 9 at 5 pm.  State will be played at Heritage Park in Madison.

The 11-12 boys got home runs from Brody Little,  Carson Waters and Bryce Bailey to avenge their opening loss to Screven County 6-2.  But the Bleckley pitching staff was spent and players who had little or no experience were forced on the mound versus Metter.  That and cold bats led to a 14-3 loss.  However, the 11-12 boys also secured a state berth.  Their first game is July 9 in Sylvania at 4 p.m.
