Former Women's Pro Baller to be Honored in Eastman | Best Of

Becky Harp Pritchett loves the game of basketball. She has played since high school, and even toured for three years with the All-American Red Heads, a pro women's basketball team. . Her hometown chamber of commerce gave her the Native Citizen Award last week. And Monday, Oct. 8,the city of Eastman will honor her with a reception at 6:30 at Eastman city hall, and the whole community is invited.
Pritchett said she was truly overwhelmed, and humbled by all the attention, and said, "I look at all of this kind of like, well, the American Red Heads are like a ferris wheel, and each one of us is the bucket, you know, we all have a part in what has been going on."
"I really don't know why I was picked by the coaches to play on the team ... I didn't start playing ball until high school, and I really didn't think I was that good ... I have asked many times, why me? And God just really changed that for me, and was like, why not you?
