Holiday event benefit to help Cochran child
Ali Momin of the Cochran Dairy Queen Grill and Chill announced Sunday evening that his restaurant would be holding "Riley Edge Day" all day December 15, 2012.
Riley Edge is a Bleckley County Elementary School student who battles epilepsy. The daughter of Mike and Sasha Edge, Riley is scheduled to receive a service dog this summer, and funds are needed to assist with the dog's training, care, as well as new stronger medications that Riley has to be on. In spite of her condition, Riley plays travel ball for a middle Georgia team.
A portion of the proceeds from sales that day at Dairy Queen from opening until close will go to help Riley.
Kids and adults of all ages are especially invited to come to Dairy Queen to grab something to eat and hear Margaret Spielman, singer for the Mid-Life Chryslers (a tri-county based cover band), perform a mini Christmas concert. Performing along with Margaret will be her mother, Shirley Collins and her niece, Savannah Porter.
