Newton's law of physics says "A body in motion tends to stay in motion." That certainly proved true for the Cochran-based Motion Fastpitch softball team Saturday in Milledgeville.
After falling in their opening bracket game, they played five back to back games to make it to the title game against the South Georgia Recoil. The Motion rallied down 3-1 in their final at bat to win 6-3, then won a sudden-death shootout 1-0 after getting out of a bases loaded jam in the top of the inning.
It capped what had been a long, thrilling first tournament that didn't end until nearly midnight.
The Motion brought home first place in the Camsports-USA Tournament "JJ"s Birthday Celebration," their first top finish in 14 and under play. They also claimed a berth in the Camsports "King Of The Mountain" tournament set for March 22-25.
