Bleckley Primary, BCHS named Title I Distinguished Schools.

Two Bleckley schools appear on the Georgia Department of Education's list of 2019-20 Title I Distinguished Schools released Monday. Bleckley Primary and BCHS made the list of Title I schools that are the highest performing in Georgia based upon their CCRPI (College and Career Ready Performance Index) ranking. BCHS Cheerleaders finish third at state.

It was an emotional two days for the Bleckley County High School competition cheerleading squad.  At sectionals November 15, BC didn't have their best performance but qualified for the finals as fourth seed.  The next morning, BCHS hit everything in their routine and finished just one point away from a state title.

BCHS girls cross country makes history, again.

For the first time in school history, Bleckley County has a four-time state champion.  Girls cross country won their fourth consecutive state title Saturday in Carrollton.  Tristen Crosby was second, Austin Perez finished third.  The boys finished third at state with Garrett Rogers finishing second, Luke Churchwell third.

Bleckley County Middle School's competition cheerleading squad had theier best performance of the season at Tuesday night's MGMSAA Region hosted by Jeff Davis Middle School to finish region runner up.  Click here for more.

BCHS cross coutnry teams run their way to region titles.

(Photos courtesy BleckleyProgress.com contributor.) BCHS cross country continued their region dominance by winning the 3-AA title Thursday morning at Washington County. Tristan Crosby was girls individual region champ. Austin Perez finished second, Emily Youngblood third, and Brianna Gibberson fifth. Garrett Rogers was boys region champion. Luke Churchwell was second, KSon Jones third, Will Smith fifth. The state cross country championship will be November 2 in Carrollton at 11 am.

Cheerleaders have their best day yet.

Not only did the BCHS competition cheerleaders finish first at the East Laurens Falcon Frenzy, they had their cleanest performance of the season and improved their score by five points.  Click here for more.

Runnin' Royals brave the heat to win.

Head coach Shelly Cranford has always trained cross country team members to be ready to run regardless of the weather. Temperatures neared 100 degrees as BCHS runners took the course at the Bleckley County Invitational Thursday afternoon. Despite the heat, both teams finished first in the AA division. Teams will be off until October 17 when they host the Tune up 2-miler at 5 pm.
