Crush 04 played in the USFA Class C State tournament held this past weekend in Columbus.  The team finished third.

NenaBeth Mickle won the National Youth Bible Drill Competition held June 16 in Brunswick. Mickle won the state competition held earlier this month in Stone Mountain. She was one of 12 competitors. Bible Drills are a combination of being able to find certain chapters and scriptures in the Bible (IE: 1 Corinthians 6:9) as well as recite certain scriptures from memory. Participants had eight seconds to accomplish the task. Mickle is the first Georgia representative to ever win national competition. She's the 13-year old daughter of Jeff and Joyce Mickle of Cochran.

Bleckley All Star teams finish second at Dodge Invitational.

Both the 8 and 10-u girls all star teams finished second at the Dodge Invitational played at the Eastman-Dodge Recreation Department this weekend.  The 8-u play tomorrow at the Hawkinsville Invitational at 7:30 pm while the 10-u play Tuesday at 5:30.

BCHS cheerleader Calli White received the Positive Athlete Georgia Most Positive Cheer Athlete at their awards ceremony Tuesday night.   It was held at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

BCHS baseball players named to Georgia Dugout Club Preview All State team.

Two Bleckley baseball players were first team selections to the Georgia Dugout Club Preview Magazine AA All State Team.  The information was first reported in Wednesday's Macon Telegraph.  Selected were Benji Knighton- Second Base and Carter Raffield- Pitcher.  

BCHS also had two players named Honorable Mentions.  They were Chandler Abney- Outfield and Chance Pittman- First Base.

Former MGC Baseball Head Coach Craig Young inducted into NJCAA Hall of Fame.

Former MGC Baseball Head Coach Craig Young inducted into NJCAA Hall of Fame.

Craig Young, who accumulated a 761-380 record in 22 years of coaching at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College as well as Middle Georgia College (now Middle Georgia State University) was inducted into the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame Friday night.  The ceremony took place in Grand Junction, Colorado, in conjunction with the NJCAA World Series.

District Teacher of the Year announced at convocation.

Millie Smith, a third grade teacher in just her second year at Bleckley Elementary, was announced as District Teacher of the Year at Friday's end of year convocation.  To read more coverage from the event, click here.
