MGA's Moe to be recognized for 300 wins January 10.

Middle Georgia State men's head basketball coach Scott Moe will be recognized for winning his 300th career game Thursday when the Knights host Univeristy of Mobile at 7:30 pm.  Moe won his 300th game in November at College of Coastal Georgia in double overtime.  There will also be a MGA women's game against University of Mobile that day at 5:30.

BCHS band members chosen for annual UGA high school band festival.

Bleckley County High School band members Allyson Burke, Adam Little, and Megan McNair were chosen to be a part of the 69th annual University of Georgia high school band festival known as JanFest. The students were nominated by band director Matthew McClellan and selected by UGA based upon their musical achievements. It will be held January 17-20 in Athens. Students will audition for different festival bands after arriving. Following a weekend of practice, a final concert is held that Sunday at the Hugh Hodgson School of Music.

The Lady Royals softball team held their postseason awards banquet Tuesday night at First Baptist Church. Presentations included those making all-region and all-state teams. 3-AA All Region Team selections: Second team- Macey Haley, E’Lisia Vickers. First team- Landa Dominy, Riley Edge, Bailey Odom. Caroline Thrower. 3-AA Co-player of the Year: Abbey Sims. AA All State Honorable Mentions: Abbey Sims, Landa Dominy. CBRD 8u football team wins district title.

History was made in Hawkinsville Saturday as the Cochran Bleckley Recreation Department's 7-8 football team won the program's first GRPA District Titlte in program history, beating Metter 36-6.  Bleckley will play in the Class C state semifinals December 1 in Tifton.

After playing one year for Gordon State College where she made the NJCAA All Region team, former Bleckley County High School softball player Hannah Coulter's career took a big step up as she signed her national letter of intent Wednesday with the University of Georgia. Coulter hit .312 with three home runs and 23 RBI in one season with the Highlanders.

BCHS Cheerleaders have best finish at state in 14 years.

The Bleckley County High School competition cheerleaders finishing fourth at Saturday's AA state finals in Columbus, their best since a state runner up finish in 2004-05.  To read more, click here.
