Forward Dodge Continues Progress

On Thursday, June 6, 2013, the Eastman-Dodge County Chamber of Commerce hosted a meeting of Forward Dodge. Phil Bearden presented a history of economic development in Dodge County focusing on the process from a state, regional, and local level. Bearden outlined why community involvement is an important component of the process as a support mechanism for the local chief economic developer, city and county officials, local authorities and state officials.

Task forces provided updates on the progress achieved since the May meeting, including exterior improvements to the spec building, working with DOT to develop welcome signage, continuing to map utilities, and identifying needs for future development in the airport area.

In today’s highly competitive environment, it is imperative to plan, communicate and implement a focused action plan.  Forward Dodge highlights specific areas needed for immediate action in maintaining and improving Dodge County’s many assets.

The Chamber invites everyone interested in developing ownership and planning for community growth to the next Forward Dodge meeting scheduled for July 16, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. in the Chamber of Commerce Hall.
