The Orange Julius is a frothy, orange drink that goes back to the early 1920s, but was very popular in the 1970s and 1980s.
Or so it was with me and my family. Visiting the Orange Julius(c) stops in the local malls in Garland and Dallas, Texas were real treats for us. My mom would take me, my sister and our friends to the mall and we would grab one. And when I went to work with my dad, we would stop and get one. Happy times with a treat that made us smile.
So, when Ali Momin of the Cochran Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, and one of the Tri-County Monitor's advertisers sent word that the Orange Julius(c) was now being served at the restaurant, this writer took a ride to the location on 2nd Street.
Ali explained that the Cochran Dairy Queen had just gotten the product in their store, and already, as of noon on Friday, "we had sold quite a few."
There are two drinks offered through Orange Julius(c) at the Cochran Dairy Queen Grill and Chill -a Smoothie, made with real fruit and yogurt, and the Orange Julius.
