Bleckley Residents Follow Hall to End of His Journey
Bleckley Residents Follow Hall to End of His Journey

It was a sad time in Cochran Saturday as hometown star Carl Hall and the Wichita State Shockers fell in the Final Four to overall top seed Louisville 72-68.  But during the game, people tuned in.  Some at home, some with friends.  Some at work.

Don Davis, owner of Big Bubba's Chicken had the game streaming on his laptop.  As he turned chicken and checked on french fries, you could hear him remark "We're up twelve, we've gotta hold on."  At Piggly Wiggly, where Hall once worked when the store was known as Bi-Lo, the deli area was busy, though the deli was closed.

A small group of fans sat at tables and watched, trying to will the Shockers on to one more win.  Though the journey ended, everyone is proud of Carl and the rest of the Shockers for their outstanding season.
