Bleckley County Pre-K To Celebrate Georgia Pre-K Week | Community Spirit
September 30-October 4 is Georgia Pre-K week. During that week, government and community leaders will visit some of the approximately 3,800 Pre-K classrooms in Georgia as eyes turn toward Georiga's youngest children "in celebration of the important work they are doing to get ready for school success."
Pre-K week is hosted by Voices for Georgia's Children and its partners. Director of Bleckley Pre-K Pansy Corbett said in a news release, “We are so proud to have the opportunity to teach our young learners, the leaders of our future. If we want our children to make positive, lasting impacts, we much invest in early childhood programs.”
Bleckley's Pre-K program has been operating for 19 of 20 years since the inception of the Pre-K Program. The release states Bleckley is funded to serve 154 students. Bleckley Pre-K Teachers and assistants are: Georgia Anne Herrington, Julie Jones & Terri Purser; Sondra Leatherwood & Tracy Dykes; Sherri Ligon & Debbie Collins; Lynne Lister & Alaina Hicks; Amanda Maxwell, Shanda Gilbert & Jennifer Bowen; Kristen Sims & Beverly Money; Donna Smith & Chuncey Allen; and Kelly Smith & Amanda Allen.
