Bleckley's Ross signs with Missouri | Community Spirit
After all the speculation, all the attention, it was finally time. Wednesday was national signing day. BCHS senior Tavon Ross, who had originally committed to Missouri, had received offers from UGA, Alabama, and the University of Miami. Auburn had also expressed interest in Ross.
That moning, Ross decided he would stay with Missouri. A ceremony was held in the cafeteria that afternoon. Family members, coaches, friends, and teammates from the football, basketball, and baseball teams attended. Ross had 87 tackles, 11 for losses. He had six interceptions, returning four for touchdowns.
Ross was a member of the second most winning senior class in school history. He helped lead the Royals to their first home playoff win in school history and the first playoff win since 2006. In speaking at the end, Ross simply thanked everyone for their support over the years. He received a standing ovation.
