Middle Georgia animal rescue to hold HUGE adopt-a-thon

The Georgia Canine Rescue and Rehab, located in Bleckley County but serving all of middle Georgia, will be teaming up with other shelters on February 11 and 12 at Pet Smart on Watson Blvd. in Warner Robins to participate in the "Give the Gift of Love" Adoptathon from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.  There will be a bouncy castle and tons of adoptable pets waiting to go home with someone. The first 20 adoptions get a bag full of goodies. The event is sponsored by Pet Smart Charities.

According to GCRR Board member, Bonnie Walker, GCRR "got in 22 dogs on Sunday and 20 plus on Wednesday, February 1, from rescues in South Carolina. Many small breeds, like chihuahuas, Shi-Tzu, Bostons, poodles, Multi-Poos are at the shelter, and we also have many mixed breeds of all ages and breeds, as well as puppies."

The GCRR will have, according to Walker, "over 50 dogs at the adoptathon. This will be a tremendous event at the Pet Smart in Warner Robins. There will be about three rescues doing adoptions, and we will have tents outside that day where dogs and cats will be."

Walker was excited, "This will be the first major adoptathon the GCRR has done since their inception five years ago."

The event on February 11-12 will include having a bouncy castle for kids and other treats, and a live radio broadcast.
