Bleckley All Star Teams Finish Second in Hawkinsville Tournament | Community Spirit

Rained out from last Thursday, the final 9-10 and 11-12 boys games for Hawkinsville's invitational tournament were held Tuesday. They would be the last invitational games before subdistrict play that begins this weekend. The 9-10 boys, facing Dodge County, lost their concluced championship game 7-4.
They will open subdistrict play Saturday in Eastman taking on the winner of Soperton and Dodge County #2 at 10:45 a.m.
Bleckley's 11-12 boys, after eliminating host Hawkinsville last Friday, faced Dodge County in the semifinals. Sam Knighton hit a grand slam in a 14-13 win.
Americus (Sumter County) was their championship opponent, and the team that had handed Cochran their first loss in the tournament.
Bleckley rallied from a 4-0 deficit to win game one 6-5. They would not hold a 4-0 lead in game two and lost 8-4. Subdistrict play begins Friday in Eastman versus Dodge County at 5:30 p.m.
