Jackson Assumes Command of Indian Battalion

The Dodge County High School Army JROTC Battalion recently announced the promotion and appointment of Cadet/LTC Anthony Jackson.

Cadet Jackson assumed command of the Indian Battalion from former commander Cadet/LTC Paul Coogle in a change of command ceremony earlier this year.

As the battalion commander, Jackson is responsible for the overall health, welfare, and leadership of almost 100 cadets at Dodge County HS.

Historically reserved for Seniors, his promotion to Cadet/LTC and appointment to battalion command, is the first ever such appointment for a Junior.

Jackson is an A-B Honor Roll student and has been the Captain of the Drill Team and commanded the male competition squad.

He has twice attended the JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge at Fort Benning, GA. He is a two-time recipient of the JROTC Top-Leadership award and twice been awarded the Superior Cadet Medal.

Jackson is the son of Lawanda Jackson and resides in Eastman, GA.

He plans to enlist in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from high school.
