The Greer Foundation in collaboration with the Dodge County HS Army JROTC battalion is hosting its 2nd Annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run in memory of the thousands of American citizens who perished on 9/11.

On Saturday, September 8, 2012, runners of all kinds will gather on the grounds of the historic Dodge County Courthouse to pay respect to the fallen and run for Wounded Warrior Project. At 8:30 am JROTC Cadets will present the Colors followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.

A volunteer firefighter will read a narrative of the events of 9/11 as a reminder of that tragic day in our nation's history.

The run will be led by the Eastman Police Department and several veterans riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. September Sky Band will also be on hand to entertain spectators and fans. Awards will be presented in four categories to the top three runners: Adult Male, Adult Female, Girls (18U), Boys (18U).  Last year, the run raised $5,149.00 for Wounded Warriors. Sponsorships are available for $100 or other substantive support (Includes name/logo on race t-shirt; name mentioned in race brochures/media; name placed on registration web site; one race entry token; one race t-shirt.

Donation must arrive NLT September 6, 2012 in order to ensure name/logo on race tee.
