Dodge Co Hosts 2nd Annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run

The Greer Foundation (with the help of countless volunteers) is hosting its 2nd Annual 9/11 Memorial 5K Run in memory of the thousands of American citizens who perished on 9/11.

On Saturday, September 8, 2012, runners of all kinds will gather on the grounds of the historic Dodge County Courthouse to pay respect to the fallen and run for Wounded Warrior Project.

At 8:30 a.m. Army JROTC Cadets from Dodge County High School will present the Colors followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance.

A volunteer firefighter will read a narrative of the events of 9/11 as a reminder of that tragic day in our nation's history.

The run will be led by the Eastman Police Department and several veterans riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. Runners and race fans will also be entertained by September Sky Band.

The run is a collaborative service learning project between Army JROTC Cadets at Dodge County High School and The Greer Foundation. All proceeds will benefit Wounded Warrior Project.
