A Messy Welcome and Goodbye for Local Church Youth
Things got messy at the Jones Road home of Jody and Becky Kirkpatrick Wednesday evening.
Their yard was filled with youth. The youth ate ice cream cones filled with mayonaise, ate items out of a diaper, bobbed for vienna sausage in a tub of oatmeal, and other things not designed for the squeamish.
No, it wasn't a plot for a new reality TV show. It was the annual "Messy Olympics." Started seven years ago, the Kirkpatricks, youth directors at Cochran's Bethany Baptist Church, hold the annual sloppy fun to welcome new youth to the program, and say goodbye to those who've graduated high school.
