Liver Transplant Child Asks for People to Pray with Her | Community Spirit

Last year, Sara-beth Martin was nine years old, and had two heart surgeries. Before that, as a toddler, she underwent a liver transplant due to a rare genetic disorder. She is back in Atlanta for a biopsy.

When her mom, Becky Martin, and Becky's fiancée, Dr. Lynn Mullis, sat with Sara-beth to tell her news, Sara-beth was upset, but then she said, “ I know that Jesus is always with me, and you told me that He is always in my heart, and that I could pray to myself, or pray outloud, or ask someone to pray with me when I am scared.”

As she sat and watched the clock from her hospital bed Oct. 8, Sara-beth asked for people to pray with her. Though her surgery went well, and she was back in the room after 5:15, Sara-beth, her mom and grandma were staying over night so labs could be done and the doctors could monitor everything.
