Day Set for Child with Epilepsy in Cochran | Community Spirit
Riley Edge looks like a typical 9-10 year old. And pretty much she is - she likes to do most things that 9-10 year olds do (hang out with her friends, reads, plays with her friends and brother and is an amazing little softball player). Interestingly enough, Riley, the daughter of Sasha and Mike Edge and sister of Ty, has a form of epilepsy with seizures that wreck havoc on her life and would most anyone's.
But for Riley's determination, sassy and never say quit attitude, she keeps moving forward. In 2013, she will receive a service dog if all goes well, that will help her have more freedoms and give her parents a peace of mind. Recently, she was taken down from four daily meds to three, but one of them is stronger and extremely expensive.
To assist with the costs of medical treatment, medicines and the training and supplies for the dog, the Cochran Dairy Queen Grill & Chill is sponsoring Riley Edge Day. All day Saturday, December 15, 2012, 10 percent of proceeds from sales of food and drink items at the restaurant will go Riley.
Riley and her family will be on hand during certain time periods of the day, and word is that Santa Claus will be too for pictures.
So come on out, take-out, dine in, meet Riley, visit Santa and have a good old time at the Cochran Dairy Queen Saturday, December 15 all day. (From the Tri-County Monitor, www.tricountymonitor.net)
