Youth Wrestlers Compete in South Ga. Classic | Community Spirit
Recently, the Dodge County Wrestling Club kicked off the New Year with a very challenging wrestling tournament in Valdosta, GA.
The South Georgia Classic, billed as one of the tougher USA Wrestling tournaments in the southeast, lived up to its reputation as ten Dodge County grapplers took to the mat to test their skills against opponents from Georgia, Florida, and Alabama.
After a full day on the mats, all ten of Dodge County’s grapplers walked away sporting new medals around their necks and gained valuable experience for future tournaments.
In the morning session, Porter Faulk placed 1st and 2nd in his respective weight classes, Jake Rogers placed 2nd, Josh Rogers 2nd, McCay Turner earned 2nd and 3rd in two weight classes, Joah Gay earned 3rd place, and Kaden White brought home the 4th place medal. In the afternoon session, Christian Grauberger rolled through the competition earning two 1st place medals in two weight classes, James Rogers also won 1st place, while Jared Cannon and Ty Bellflower earned 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
