Celebrate Arbor Day Friday, February 15th with a complimentary dogwood or red maple tree. Established in 1872, Arbor Day encourages tree planting and proper care. Observed throughout world, Eastman and Dodge County celebrate Arbor Day by reading a special proclamation signed by the Eastman City Council and by planting a tree. This special recognition will be held on Friday, February 15th at 3:00 P.M. at the Eastman/Dodge County Area Chamber of Commerce & Welcome Center located at 1646 College Street in Eastman. Dogwood and red maple seedlings will be given away to the public following the ceremony. The seedlings are compliments of the City of Eastman, the Dodge County Commissioners, and the Eastman/Dodge County Area Chamber of Commerce. The Dodge County 4-H Club will assist in distributing the seedlings.
