The Dodge County High School Army JROTC Drill Team & Color Guard team recently traveled to Macon, GA to compete against 14 teams in the Regional Championships.
Coached by drill expert MSG (Ret) Damon Carver, the cadets performed exceptionally well against a tough field of competitors where places are determined by less than one point. Competing in several events, both Armed and Unarmed, the Indian Battalion walked away with a total of eight trophies for their efforts.
Representing the male cadets, the Indians placed first in Armed Squad, first in Unarmed Squad, first in Armed Platoon, and first in Unarmed Platoon sweeping the male regulation drill events. The females placed first in Unarmed Platoon, first in Armed Squad, and third in Unarmed Squad. The cadets will represent Dodge County at the Georgia High School JROTC State Drill competition later this month in Griffin, GA.
