Fall for Eastman 12th Annual Fall Festival will be held Saturday, October 29 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. along Main Street in downtown Eastman.


The Downtown Decoration contest kicked off October 10th and lasts through the festival.

Awards include Best Overall and Kid’s Choice. Register for your lamp post at Coleman Gifts and Framing located at 215 Main Street for $10 per post or call 478-374-4860.

Rhine Holds Meeting On Proposed Sewer Project

A community town hall meeting was held in the town of Rhine on Tuesday evening, September 20, 2011, with over 125 citizens in attendance.

The meeting was held to discuss the proposed funding for a wastewater management system for the town of Rhine. Representatives from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), engineers from Rindt-McDuff Associates, Inc. and citizens from the concerned citizens group of Rhine were in attendance to provide information at the meeting.

  • Twin Oaks Fun Farm, Monroe County. Features pumpkins and a corn maze. Open Oct. 1-Oct. 31
  • Our Cotton Pickin' Christmas Tree Farm, Hawkinsville. Check their Facebook page for updates.Pick your own pumpkin from the patch. Also enjoy cider or cocoa on the porch while the kids climb the hay mountain. Open 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
