Salem Baptist Church hosting Biblical worship workshop August 10.

Salem Baptist Church will host the Associational Biblical Worship Workshop August 10 from 9 am to noon. Sponsored by the Pulaski-Bleckley Baptist Association, Dr. Jon Duncan of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board and music ministry will lead a discussion of what is Biblical worship as opposed to worship styles and choices. The event is free and open to all. Salem Baptist Church is located at 107 Emergency Road 450R in Cochran.

Friends of the Library holding "big" book sale August 3.

Cochran Bleckley Friends of the Library will hold an old book sale August 3 from 9 am to 2 pm at the old BCHS Library, 115 SE Ninth St.  Hardcover books for $1.00, softback books for $.25.  High school yearboks from the years 2001, 2003, 2009, 2012, 2013, & 2014.  Proceeds benefit the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library.

Promise of Hope seeking participants, sponsors for annual golf tournament.

Promise of Hole will hold the fifth annual "Men's Swing Fore Hope" benefiting the men's facility in Cochran August 3 at Uchee Trail.  Shotgun starts of 8 am or 1 pm.  Cost is $200 per team.   Food, drinks, snacks, provided.   Hole sponosrships are available for $100.  Other sponsorships also available.  Prizes for top three teams in both flights.

Community Back to School Bash August 2.

A commnity back to school bash will be held August 2 from 5 to 8 pm in Eastgate Plaza (across from Bleckley Pre-K) in Cochran.  Sponsored by Communities in Schools/Family Connection, the event will feature a school supply giveaway, touch a truck, food, games, waterslide, informational booth, bounce house, and much more.

Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church to offer food bank for area residents.

Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church will offer a food bank for residents of Bleckley, Dodge, and Pulaski Counties on the fourth Friday of each month at the church's family life center from 4 to 5 pm. Valid ID required, offering is on a first come, first serve basis. While primarily for those receiving government assistance, no one in need will be turned away.
