Craft fair will benefit church missions.

First Baptist Church of Cochran's Thread Bearers Ministry will hold a Holiday Craft Fair October 20 from 9 am-6 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Proceeds will benefit the Ministry Infrastructure Fund. Donations of homemade goods welcomed. Items sought include: blankets, baked goods, canned sauces, Christmas decor, baby and children's items, and kitchen wares. Cochran-Bleckley CountryFest October 20.

The 2018 Cochran-Bleckley CountryFest, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce will take place October 20.  Most activities will be held on Third and Cherry streets.  New for this year, the annual Wheen 'N For Tots Car Show.  It'll be on Second Street, a registration form can be found here.   Also new, a corn hole tournament to be held in the chamber parking lot on Thrd street at 2 pm.

Festival runs from 10 am-5 pm.  Food, arts and crafts, kids area, more.  Street dance starts at 4 with Mama and Them, followed by Entaraj from 6-9 pm.   Call the chamber for more information, (478)934-2965.

Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale October 20.

Cochran-Bleckley Friends of the Library will hold their fall old book sale October 20 at the old BCHS Library, 115 SE Ninth Street, from 9 am-5 pm.  Prices range from $.25 to $3.  Selections include history, children's, romance, drama, thrillers, many more.  Proceeds benefit the Tessie W. Free items available at "Share Day" yard sale.

The second annual "Share Day" free yard sell will be held at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church from 8 am-noon. Items available include clothes of all sizes, toys, household items, and furniture, all free to pick up. Hot chocolate and muffins at 8, hot dogs served at 11 am. Story Time at the Library October 17.

Story Time at the Tessie W. Norris/Cochran-Bleckley Library will be October 17 at 10 am.  Reader will be Margaret Kilpatrick.  Story Time is presented by Bleckley County Retired Educators.

BCHS One Act to perform "All Shook Up" October 14-16.

Bleckley County High School One Act Play will have community performances of this year's competition selection All Shook Up October 14-16 in the auditorium. Times are 3 pm that Sunday, 7:30 pm on both Monday and Tuesday. Admission is $6 adults, $3 students. BCHS will also be the host for this region one act play competition October 18. Bleckley will take the stage at approximately 4:15 pm. Admission is free. No photography nor videography at region per GHSA rules.

Cochran community blood drive October 8.
