  • Downtown Macon's Friday Fest 2nd Annual Christmas Caroling. Anyone can participate! Meet in Third St. Park at 6 p.m.
  • Tennille Christmas on the Square, Friday Dec. 9 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Eastman Christmas Parade starts Saturday, Dec. 10 at 1 p.m.
  • Gray Second Saturday Fest until 7 p.m. Santa is at the Carriage House from 2-7 p.m. Saturday.
  • Drive-thru nativity scene at Riverside UMC in Macon, open from 6:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday [free admission]
  • Drive-thru nativity scene at Lighthouse Baptist Church on Sardis Church Rd. opens 6:30 p.m until 8 Friday and Saturday [free admission]

It felt like Christmas Friday evening as the annual lighted Christmas parade made its way down Second Street.  The event (sponsored by the Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce) had a variety of paricipants including local churches, pagent queens, and of course, Santa.   See more photos from the evening.

Hawkinsville Christmas Parade

The Hawkinsville Christmas parade takes place Saturday, December 3 at 5:30 p.m.

 

The parade route begins on Commerce Street at the intersection of Commerce St. and Houston St., then turns onto Dooley St., then onto Broad St.

The Hawkinsville Merchants Christmas Open House also takes place.

Eastman Lions Club Christmas Parade

Eastman Lions Club Christmas Parade

EASTMAN, GA.--The annual Eastman Lions Club Christmas Parade is scheduled for December 10th at 1 p.m. along Oak Street and Main Street in Eastman. Prizes will be awarded for first, second, and third place. Floats, motorcycles, walkers, horses, and vehicles are permitted with a $25 fee per entry. There is no fee for bands, color guard, fire and police units. All proceeds benefit vision care projects in the Dodge County area.

Applications are available at the Eastman-Dodge County Chamber of Commerce, from any Eastman Lions Club member, or at www.eastman-georgia.com. Applications and checks can be mailed to Eastman Lions Club, P.O. Box 166, Eastman, GA 31023.

Local Church Presents Annual 'Drive Through Bethlehem'

COCHRAN, GA.--Bethany Baptist Church, located at 608 Highway 26 East, will have their fifth annual "Drive Through Bethlehem" event December 9-11 from 6-8 pm.  Motorists stay in their cars and drive through a re-enactment of Bethlehem during the first Christmas. 

Church members make up the cast including Roman Soldiers, shopkeepers, and craftspeople.  Farm animals will also be part of the scenery.  For more information, visit the church website or call 478-934-7161.

The American Red Cross will have a community blood drive December 5 from 2-7 pm in the main room of the Bleckley County Extension Office located on Peacock Street.  Donors will be registered to win one of thre pairs of round-trip tickets donated by Delta.
