Spectacular Fireworks Show Scheduled for July 4th in Eastman

The Eastman-Dodge County Chamber of Commerce has scheduled the annual fireworks show for Monday, July 4th at Dodge County Memorial Stadium, located at Dodge County Middle School. Gates to the stadium will open at 7:30 p.m., with opening ceremonies begining at 8:45 p.m. with the raising of the flag and national anthem.

A beautiful fireworks display will light the night sky at dark, in celebration of Independence Day. Greg Grantham of WOLF 97.5 will emcee the evening’s festivities, and great food will be available for purchase. Admission to the stadium is $1. 

Preferred parking spaces are on sale for $20, which includes admission for four to the stadium, and entry into a drawing for a $50 Goody's gift certificate. All proceeds benefit next year’s Freedom Fest fireworks show.

ATLANTA – From corporate anniversaries to landmark festivals, 2011 is a monumental year for Georgia. Get out and celebrate!

Several Georgia companies are celebrating their lasting success in 2011. The Coca-Cola Company just celebrated its 125th birthday! The refreshing and iconic beverage first went on sale at Atlanta’s Jacob Pharmacy in May of 1886. Since then, Coca-Cola has expanded to more than 200 countries. Visitors can learn more about Coca-Cola by visiting the World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta. Delta Air Lines, an airport staple with roots in Macon and Atlanta, is celebrating 70 years in Atlanta. The airline’s Delta Air Transport Heritage Museum, Inc. in Atlanta is open to the public for free, Monday through Thursday. Visitors to the museum can learn about the history of air transport around the world and the history of Delta in Georgia.

Bleckley Theatre Camp Presents Annie

The fifth annual Bleckley Theatre Camp will present Annie June 24-25 at the City Auditorium. 

Showtimes are 7 p.m. both nights and a 2 p.m. matinee on June 25.  Admission is $5 for adults, $3 children with children under five admitted free.  The show is directed by Mi Waters and Kelli Greer.

Bleckley Teen to compete for Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen 2011

Bleckley teen Jessi Young is in Columbus for the Miss Georgia's Outstanding Teen Pageant.  Young was crowned Miss Warner Robins Outstanding Teen last July.  She has completed the interview portion of the competition.   She will compete in the other categories (fitness, talent, and evening gown) June 15-17.  The top ten finalists will be announced June 18 and they will compete for the titles of Miss Georgia and Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen 2011.  The pageant will be streamed each night beginning at 7:30 pm on www2.wrbl.com
