A dance like no other at the Cochran Community House.

A dance like no other at the Cochran Community House.

The Cochran Community House has been the site of many dances for BCHS students.  This one was different.  It was for "Mrs. Churchwell's class."  "Mrs. Churchwell" is Pam Churchwell, who teaches special needs students.  Attendees got all the trimmings of a prom inlcuding being transported to the dance in a limo and introductions by principal Michelle Masters.  After that, they went inside for a full night of picture-taking, refreshments, and of course, dancing.

Churchwell said she came up with the idea because while some of her students might be interested in the prom, they wouldn't enjoy the large crowd associated with it.  A look at the faces of attendees left no doubt that they were enjoying the evening.  Some other BC Juniors and Seniors were in attendance to help out and mingle with the guests.  As they would leave at the end of the night, Churchwell would thank them for attending.  A common reply?
