Warrior Up! Challenge Has Good Turn-Out

Warrior Up! Challenge Has Good Turn-Out

The Greer Foundation in collaboration with the Dodge County High School JROTC Battalion recently hosted the first Warrior Up! Challenge.  The event was held Saturday after Veterans Day at the Eastman-Dodge Recreation Department.

Designed to push runners beyond what they would typically experience, the Warrior Up! Challenge was a military style trail run.

Runners sprinted, jogged, crawled, leaped and cavorted through a 2-mile course consisting of obstacles, mud, gravel, water, scrub brush, dirt and grass.

Although the weather was less than ideal (we had to cut the frozen lock with bolt cutters to get into the venue!), 41 runners of all ages participated to test their physical toughness, stamina and simply buck-up in honor of America's fighting men and woman.

Run Results: Adult Male Division: 1st - Thomas Rogers; 2nd - Dustin Ussery; 3rd - Reggie Sheffield. Adult Female Division:  1st - Kathy Brown.
