As it was the first Friday in December, Cochran Christmas traditions continued with the Pilot Club Lite-a-Lite ceremony and Lighted Christmas parade.  To see photos from both, click here.

Christmas services, events at Bleckley churches beginning this weekend.

A busy schedule of Christmas events and services stars tomorrow with Longstreet United Methodist Church hodling their annual carol sing.  Sunday, both Mt. Fish fry will benefit local man battling cancer, needy family during Christmas.

First Baptist Church  of Cochran will hold a benefit fish fry December 7 at 7 pm in the Fellowship Hall. Cost is $20 donation. Plates will have fish, french fries, hush puppies, coleslaw. Door prizes, items for auction including Glock 42, Yeti Hopper, fishing accessories, and cakes. Money raised will go toward Brian Smith, a local man battling cancer, as well as a needy family during Christmas. Only 250 tickets will be sold. Cochran community blood drive December 4.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive December 4 from 2-7 pm in the Bleckley County Extension Office main building, 165 E Peacock St.  To schedule an appointment online, visit redcrossblood.org, and use the sponsor code "Bleckley."

Cornerstone Church of Cochran will hold the Cornerstone Market December 2 from 9 am-5 pm at the Cochran Bleckley Arts Alliance, 113 E Dykes St.  Gift wrapping, jewelry, crafts, clothes, food, hot coco, and more will be available.  Visit with Santa from 2-4 pm.

Hop aboard the Winter Wonderland Express November 30.

Ride a train into the world of Christmas at the Winter Wonderland Express November 30, December 2, 8-9 at Heartland EMS, 256 Lucas Road in Cochran from 5-8 pm.  Take pictures with your favorite fairy tale characters, write letters to Santa, and more. Admission $5 per person, children under 1 free. Sponsored by Princesses with a Purpose, hosted by Pilot Club of Cochran.
