Ugandan Thunder to perform at local church July 26.

The Ugandan Thunder touring children's choir will be at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church July 26 at 7 pm.  Learn more about them by clicking here.  Mt. Calvary is located at 134 Abney Road in Cochran.

Paint party will benefit local woman's Uganda mission trip.

Bleckley resident and House of Grace church member Scarlett Allen will be making her second mission trip to Uganda this August.  To raise money for the cost, she will be hosting a paint party at House of Grace, 133 Jac Arts Road, July 22 from 2-4 pm.  The party will be led by artist Katrina Howell.  Cost is $30 and it's for women and girls 13 and up.  Register in advance by going here.  Call (478)298-3588 for more information.

Golf tournament will benefit Promise of Hope men's campus.

Promise of Hope Men's, Inc. will hold their third annual "Swing for Hope" August 5 at Uchee Trail Country Club in Cochran.  Shotgun start is 8 am.  Door prizes, food and drink, raffles, as well as championships for both the first and second flight.  Proceeds will benefit the men's campus in Cochran.  For more information, call (478)934-0774, (478)676-4673, or Steve Brown, (478)-279-2221.

Cochran-Bleckley NAACP Back to School Bash July 22.

The Cochran-Bleckley NAACP will hold their annual Back to School Bash July 22 at the Cochran-Bleckley Rec. Department gym from 6-10 pm.  Free and open to students in grades 6-12, there will be music, face painting, food, a cake walk, and other entertainment.  For more information, contact Doris Harris, (478)397-4797.

Cochran church offering free pancake breakfast July 16.

Turner Chapel AME Church will have a free pancake breakfast July 16 at 9 am.  The community is invited to enjoy breakfast then stay for Sunday School and morning worship service at 11 am.  Turner Chapel is located at 163 N Seventh St.

Bleckley Christian Learning Center celebrating one-year anniversary July 8.

The Bleckley Christian Learning Center, a 501(c)(3) that teaches Bible and leadership classes to local students, will celebrate their one-year anniversary July 8.  It will be held at House of Grace Church, 133 Jac Arts Road, featuring a concert by Christian duo Brothers Forever.  Doors open at 6 pm, concert starts at 7.  Admission is free, a love offering will be taken.  Concessions will be available.  Silent auction, live auctioninng of a handmade quilt made by local artisans.  Call BCLC President Don Giles for more information, (478)230-7540.
