Chamber of Commerce inviting Hometown Heroes to breakfast October 11.

The Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce will hold their annual Hometown Heroes breakfast October 11.  All "Hometown Heroes" (IE: law enforcement, fire, EMS personnel) are invited to a drop-in breakfast starting at 7:30 am.  Meal provided by Bethany Baptist Church.

New art exhibition opening in MGA's Peacock Gallery October 7

The April Wright Art Exhibition "Material Traces" will open October 7 inside Peacock Gallery located on the first floor of Russell Hall on the Cochran campus of Middle Georgia State University October 7. An opening reception and gallery talk will be held that night at 6 pm. The exhibition will be on display through November 8. Peacock Gallery hours are 8 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Thursday, 8 am-noon on Fridays.

Jess Darsey and Friends concert will benefit Bleckley County Fire Department.

Jess Darsey and Friends will be in concert at the new Butch Dykes Fire Station located on Dillard-Cary Road in Cary October 5 from 6-9 pm. Admission is free, donations accepted. Proceeds will benefit the Bleckley County Fire Department. Concessions will be available.

Bleckley Retired Educators meeting October 2.

The Bleckley County Retired Educators will hold their monthly meeting in the main building at the County Extension Office, 165 E. Peacock Street, October 2 at noon. Guest speaker will be Mike Davis of Davis Propane. Members wishing to eat should contact Carolyn Mulkin by September 29 to guarantee their meal.

BCMS Read-In with a Buddy October 1.

Bleckley County Middle School will host Read-In with a Buddy October 1 from 3:30-5:30 pm. The book fair will be opened, there will be places for parents to sit and read with their children. Refreshments will be served.

Promise of Hope holding Open House September 29.

Promise of Hope men's facility in Cochran will hold an open house for the public to come in and tour the campus September 29 from 2-4 pm.  It's located at 106 NeSmith Road.

Fifth Sunday Night Sing at Limestone Baptist Church September 29.

Limestone Baptist Church will hold a fifth Sunday night sing featuring singer and comedian Allison Speer September 29 at 6 pm.  The church is located at 874 GA 257 in Cochran.
