Car wash will benefit church mission trip to Honduras.

House of Grace will hold a "Car wash for Honduras" April 14 from 9 am-1 pm at the Citizens Bank in Cochran.  Proceeds will benefit an upcoming mission trip.  The bank is located 124 East Dykes Street.

Church holding spring children's musical, benefit lunch, April 15.

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church will hold their children's spring musical April 15 at 11 am. Lunch will follow, donations appreciated. Proceeds will go toward playground renovations.

Sixth annual Middle Georgia State Juried Student Art Exhibition opening April 9.

The sixth annual Middle Georgia State University Juried Student Art Exhibition will open with a reception and awards ceremony April 9 at 6 pm inside Peacock Gallery located in Russell Hall on the Cochran campus.  The exhibition will be open through April 27. Gallery hours are 8 am-5:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am to noon on Fridays.

Cochran community blood drive April 9.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive April 9 in the main room of the county extension office, 165 East Peacock Street, from 2-7 pm.  To schedule an appointment online, visit redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code "Cochran."

Cochran church holding Revival services April 8-11.

Limestone Baptist Church will hold revival services April 8 at 6 pm, and April 9-11 at 7 pm.  Guest speaker will be Rev. Freddy Hogg.

Good weather for Easter fun.

Saturday's seasonable temperatures and sunny skies made it perfect weather for the numerous egg hunts and other community events held in Bleckley County.  To see more photos, click here.

The "light" way to hunt eggs.

Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church held a flashlight Easter egg hunt Friday night.  Children (with the help of parents) went out with flashlights and glow sticks to hunt eggs in yards across from church property.  It was part of a night that  included a hot dog dinner, and the chance to pet a live rabbit.
