Annual car show will collect toys for children in Bleckley County.

Wheel'N For Tots  car show will be held October 21 in the parking lot of Bleckley County High School October 21.  Registration at 9 am, show from 11 am-3 pm.  Entry fee is one new, unwrapped toy for each vehicle entered.  Admission free for spectators.  Events include dyno competition, rod and piston trophies, crowd favorite.  Door prizes, raffle items during the day.  Contact Chris Arnold for more information, (478)308-9257,  mapleredta@gmail.com

Pets can receive special blessing at church service Saturday.

Trinity Episcopal Church in Cochran will be holding their annual "Blessing of the Animals" service October 7 at 10:30 am.  Bring your pet to receive a special blessing.  Please have all pets either on leashes or in pet carriers.  The church is located at 110 Fifth St.

Cochran community blood drive October 9.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive in the main room of the Bleckley County Extension Office, 165 E Peacock St, on October 2 from 2-7 pm.  To schedule an appointment online, visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code "Bleckley."

Breast, prostate cancer awareness at October 6 BCHS home football game.

The October 6 Washington County at Bleckley home football game will be Breast and Prostate cancer awareness night.  BCHS Hosa will be holding a cake raffle, offering face painting, and selling Great American Cookie cake slices to raise money for people in the area battling both diseases.  At 7:15 pm, balloons honoring survivors as well as in remembrance of those lost to both diseases will be released into the air.  If you are a survivor of breast or prostate cancer, or have lost a family member to either disease, you are invited to participate.  Please meet on the field near the player's gate at 7:15. 

Second annual Middle Georgia State University "KnightFest" October 3-5.

Cochran Police Department National Night Out October 3.

The Cochran Police Department will once again be a part of National Night Out, the iniative designed to build community-police partnerships.  A street party will be held October 3 from 5-8 pm on the lawn in front of the police station, 102 N Second St.  Food, bounce house, dunking booth, child ID kits, firearms safety, rock wall, Neighborhood Watch info, and more. Cochran church to hold Fall Revival, Homecoming services.

Turner Chapel AME Church will hold their annual Fall Revival September 26-28 at 7 pm.  The theme "God is asking Can you hear me now?"   Homecoming services will be October 1 at 2 pm.  Guest speaker, Rev. Gregory Cuts, Pastor Christian Hope Baptist Church.  Dinner to follow.  The church is located at 163 N Seventh St.
