Making science and math fun.

Science and math are tough subjects for many students.  But at Bleckley Elementary's Science and Math nigth, students got to see the fun side of both.  Teachers, students from BCHS physics and honors calculus classes, as well as professors and students from Middle Georgia State University had a variety of games, experirments, and activities to demonstrate the different uses of math and science.

Bleckley NAACP Youth Council Freedom Fund Banquet.

The Bleckley NAACP Youth Council Freedom Fund Banquet will be November 11 at 5 pm in the Cochran-Bleckley Rec. Pick up free items at Cochran church's "Share Day."

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church will hold a "Share Day" November 11 from 8 am-noon.  It's a free yard sale.  You're invited to come and pick up toys, furnutire, clothes, and household items.  Muffins and hot chocolate will be served at 8 am, hot dogs at 11.  Donations welcomed, call Angelia Foley, (757)-846-4050 for more info by November 8.  Large items for donation can be picked up.

Middle Georgia State's Peacock Gallery hosting Closing Reception/Gallery Talk November 6.

There will be a closing reception and gallery talk for Michael Simmons Art Exhibition currently on display at Peacock Gallery inside Russell Hall on the Cochran campus of Middle Georgia State University.  It starts at 6 pm, Simmons will give the gallery talk.

Math and Science night at Bleckley Elementary November 2.

Bleckley County Elementary School will host Math and Science Night November 2 from 5:30-7 pm.  A partnership between Bleckley Elementary staff, BCHS, and Middle Georgia State University, the event will feature a variety of activities including Tower Building, Lego Challenge, Multiplication Twister, Place Value Yatze, and more.

Encore community performance of Seussical October 30.

Though picking up several awards at Tuesday's 3-AA One Act Play competition held at Washington County High School, BCHS again finished region runner up.  However, due to the overwhelming turnout at both community performances, they will have an encore performance of this year's show, Seussical.  It will be October 30, 7 pm, inside the high school auditorium.  Admisssion $5 adults, $3 students and children.

Car wash will benefit church youth group's travel to retreat.

House of Grace's Lighthouse Student Ministry will hold a car wash November 4 from 9 am-1 pm at the Citizens Bank of Cochran, 124 E Dykes St.  Proceeds will go toward their trip to student retreat "Encounter 2018" that will take place in Florida.
