A special kind of date night.

It was a night for girls from Pre K through fifth to be the center of attention of their dad or other escort.  A night to dance, take pictures, eat sweets, and visit with friends.  It was the annual Bleckley PTO Father Daughter Dance.

Emerged Art Exhibition closing gallery talk at Middle Georgia State February 23.

A gallery talk/closing reception for the Emerged Art Exhibition currently on display inside Peacock Gallery will be held February 23 at 10 am. Artist Matthew Forrest will give the talk. Peacock Gallery is located on the first floor of Russell Hall on the Cochran campus.

Cochran Fire Department raising funds for new equipment.

Cochran Fire and Rescue are selling spaghetti plates to raise funds for new equipment. Cost is $8. Plates contain spaghetti with meat sauce, green beans, bread, and desert. Pickup will be February 24 from 11 am-1 pm behind the Chamber of Commerce on third street. See any firefighter or call (478)934-2965 to purchase tickets.

Cochran community blood drive February 12.

The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive February 12 from 2-7 pm in the county extension office main building, 165 Peacock St. To schedule an appointment online, visit redcrossblood.org and use sponsor code "Cochran."

Church student ministry has "impactful" day of fundraising.

Church student ministry has "impactful" day of fundraising.

House of Grace Church's Impact Student Ministry held a pair of fundraisers Saturday morning, a corn hole tournament as well as a raffle for an LG 49' 4K Smart TV.  Proceeds from both will go toward costs of attending the Believe  Conference in Atlanta March 16-17.  Over $1,800 was raised.

Bleckley Elementary Winter Festival February 1.

Bleckley Elementary will hold their annual Winter Festvial February 1 from 5:30-7:30 pm.  Bingo, Hay Ride, Happy Hair, Pizza Parlor, Bouncy Obsticle Course, much more.  Auction with over 50 items.  Admission $2.  Rides four for $1, or 25 for $5.

First Peacock Gallery art exhibition of Spring semester opening January 29.

Middle Georgia State University's Peacock Gallery will have their first exhibition of the spring semester "(E)merged Art Exhibition", opening January 29. It will be on display through February 23. Peacock Gallery, located inside Russell Hall on the Cochran campus, is open 8 am-5:30 pm Monday-Thursday, and on Friday from 8 am-noon.
