Bleckley Summer Theatre Camp to perform Annie.

Bleckley Summer Theatre Camp will perform Annie, jr.   Camp dates are July 6-13, performances will be July 13-15 (7 pm Friday and Saturday, 2 pm matinee Saturday, 3 pm Sunday.)  Open to ages 4-13.   Camp and performances will be held at House of Grace, 133 Jac Arts Road. Cost is $125, $25 late fee if paid after due date of June 27.   Cost includes T-Shirt, lunch, and snack.  Registration forms (available here) and money should be sent to 231 Country Club Road, Cochran, GA 31014.  Call Kelli Greer, (478)-972-2023, for more information.

Summer Meal Program will offer meals to local children.

Bleckley County School's Nutrition Program will once again participate in the Seamless Summer Meals program and offer meals for children ages 1-18.  It begins May 28 and will run through July 20.  No meals will be served July 2-6.   Breakfast and lunch will be provided at various locations in the community, an evening meal will be served at the Bleckley County Learning Center, 242 East Dykes Street, Monday-Thursday from 5:30-7 pm.

Those interested in having meals provided for their summer program, activity or Vacation Bible School must attend one of two mandatory training sessions May 15 at 2 or 6 pm at the Board of Education offices, 242 North Dykes Street.  Contact Kelli Green for more information, (478)934-2821, kelli_green@bleckley.k12.ga.us

Church holding spring children's musical, benefit lunch, April 15.

Mt. Calvary Baptist Church will hold their children's spring musical April 15 at 11 am. Lunch will follow, donations appreciated. Proceeds will go toward playground renovations.

Cochran church holding Revival services April 8-11.

Limestone Baptist Church will hold revival services April 8 at 6 pm, and April 9-11 at 7 pm.  Guest speaker will be Rev. Freddy Hogg.

Good weather for Easter fun.

Saturday's seasonable temperatures and sunny skies made it perfect weather for the numerous egg hunts and other community events held in Bleckley County.  To see more photos, click here.

The "light" way to hunt eggs.

Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church held a flashlight Easter egg hunt Friday night.  Children (with the help of parents) went out with flashlights and glow sticks to hunt eggs in yards across from church property.  It was part of a night that  included a hot dog dinner, and the chance to pet a live rabbit.

Easter events beginning at local churches this weekend.

Though Easter isn't until April 1, some Bleckley churches will be holding Easter events this weekend including an egg hunt at Mt.
